The White Coat: Endocrinologist, a doctor who has specialized training and experience in treating people with diabetes.
Dr. Andrew Drexler is a board certified endocrinologist in Los Angeles, California. I fondly call him Dr. Andy, for he has been my endo for nearly 30 years. He is also the longtime endocrinologist of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and friend to the type one diabetes (T1D) community.
Recently, Dr. Andy sat down with me on the set of The Bonnie Sher Show, Boomer Life. We discussed many T1D issues, including the long wait for a diabetes cure, islet transplantation, the artificial pancreas, and more. The reality, according to Dr. Andy, is that a cure may not be right around the corner, but there have been significant improvements in the treatment of diabetes. Watch the complete interview with this prominent endocrinologist in the clip below.
